Anthony Joshua has made it clear that he will not go easy on Jake Paul and expressed that only a knockout will satisfy his desire for aggression. The former heavyweight champion will face YouTuber Paul in what is expected to be an unequal match in Miami on December 19, with Joshua set to earn up to £70 million for the event. He stated that only a knockout victory will be acceptable to him, emphasizing that simply defeating Paul will not be enough.
Joshua disclosed that he will be trained by Oleksandr Usyk’s team for the fight and asserted his intention to deliver a decisive early finish. He emphasized his determination to inflict significant damage on Paul, stating, “I’m going to break his face and break his body. I’m here to prove I’m the superior fighter and will continue to do so until I retire from boxing. I intend to enter the ring with the goal of causing harm and demonstrating my boxing prowess.”
Acknowledging Paul’s fighting background, having participated in 13 professional fights since his debut in 2020, Joshua commended his opponent’s dedication. He reflected on his own boxing journey, highlighting the challenges he faced early on and warning against underestimating anyone in the sport.
On the other hand, Paul expressed his readiness to make sacrifices in pursuit of a historic upset in boxing. Confident in his abilities, he stated, “No one believed this could happen when I first started boxing. Join the skeptics and prepare to be surprised. I possess the power and timing required for victory, utilizing unexpected shots as a knockout specialist. Joshua needs to be cautious, as I predict a knockout in the fourth or fifth round. I am prepared to go to great lengths to secure the win.”
