Al Pacino is said to have expressed remorse for not marrying Diane Keaton, who never tied the knot despite being in several high-profile relationships, after her recent passing at the age of 79 in California.
Their romantic involvement spanned 16 years, commencing after they co-starred in the successful movie “The Godfather” and subsequent films.
Their relationship began in 1974 and came to an end in 1990 after Keaton proposed to Pacino, as per a close acquaintance of the actor. Pacino still refers to Keaton as “an incredible woman” and admits she was “the love of his life” when reminiscing about their time together.
A source close to Pacino revealed to the Daily Mail, “He will always lament not making a move when he had the chance.” Despite living near each other in Beverly Hills, they reportedly had no contact for years. Keaton publicly discussed the end of their relationship in a 2017 interview.
In her own words, Keaton stated, “I didn’t even want him to propose. I just thought maybe he would marry me, eventually.” She believed they were incompatible from the start, emphasizing the importance of parting ways and bid goodbye.
