President Donald Trump is reportedly still considering granting a pardon to Sean “P Diddy” Combs, according to recent reports. An insider revealed that discussions about the potential pardon are ongoing and not yet finalized.
Recently, a New York judge sentenced Diddy to four years and two months in prison along with a $500,000 fine, the maximum punishment for his offenses. Following this verdict, Diddy formally requested a pardon from President Trump, who acknowledged the request during a press briefing at the Oval Office.
During a White House press conference on October 6, President Trump mentioned that many individuals had sought pardons, including Diddy, whom he referred to as Puff Daddy. When asked about the possibility of pardoning Diddy, Trump mentioned their prior acquaintance and indicated a positive disposition towards him.
In a separate development, President Trump had previously granted clemency to around 1,600 individuals linked to the January 6 Capitol attack. Among those receiving pardons were NBA YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Geoff Bennett, Amna Nawaz, and Laura Barron-Lopez.
Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being convicted of two counts of transporting women for prostitution. He has consistently denied the allegations against him. Apart from seeking a presidential pardon, Diddy has requested a transfer from the Metropolitan Detention Center to a lower-security facility in New Jersey to address his drug abuse issues.
Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest in September 2024. His attorney emphasized the importance of the drug treatment program at the potential new facility in aiding Diddy’s recovery.
