Lando Norris was quick to head towards his elegant partner, Margarida Corceiro, after securing his position as Formula 1 champion. Engaging in affectionate gestures, the British racer was seen kissing and embracing the Portuguese model amidst the spectators before stepping onto the podium to commemorate his victory over Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Merely requiring a third-place finish at the Yas Marina Circuit to clinch the championship, Norris comfortably achieved this goal, maintaining his 12-point lead over Verstappen. Despite briefly losing second place to Piastri, his teammate and title contender, early in the race, Norris held his ground and secured the title.
Charles Leclerc posed a late threat to Norris as he closed the gap, but his Ferrari’s performance faded, allowing Norris a clear path to victory and the championship. Overwhelmed with emotions, Norris expressed gratitude to his team over the radio, shedding tears of joy.
Exiting his car, Norris embraced his parents and shared an emotional moment with his girlfriend, Corceiro, confirming their rekindled relationship, which had been on and off for several years. Corceiro, a familiar face in the public eye, has garnered increased attention this year alongside other F1 drivers’ partners, generating interest in their personal lives.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Norris expressed his emotions, thanking his McLaren team, family, and competitors, Verstappen and Piastri, for the challenging yet rewarding season. Emphasizing his pride in the team’s collective effort, Norris acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the sport and his determination to fight until the end.
By maintaining a focus on the race’s intensity and respecting the competition, Norris highlighted the significance of his long-standing partnership with McLaren, expressing his fulfillment in contributing to the team’s success throughout the season.
