Greene King is offering complimentary pints of Guinness this weekend to coincide with the start of the Six Nations rugby tournament. To secure your free pint, simply make a reservation for any Six Nations match on February 7 through the Greene King website and present your booking confirmation at the bar.
This promotion is valid at all Greene King sports pubs, including Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, and Belhaven, as part of their new Fans Reunited initiative supported by Rugby World Cup champions Martin Johnson and Jason Robinson.
Zoe Bowley, the Managing Director of Greene King pubs, expressed, “Fans Reunited recognizes the significant role of sports and the pub ambiance in uniting people. By launching during the Guinness Six Nations and offering reunited fans a complimentary pint, we aim to trigger those special moments where old acquaintances reconnect over a drink.”

In related news, the Treasury unveiled a support package offering pubs and music venues a 15% reduction in their business rates from April. This decision follows pressure on the government to act in response to changes made in the November budget and the conclusion of pandemic support.
Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson highlighted that this support would amount to an average savings of £1,650 for pubs in the upcoming year. While other hospitality sectors like hotels, restaurants, and cafes will not receive the same relief, the pub sector as a whole will benefit.
Emma McClarkin, the chief executive of the BBPA, expressed satisfaction with the government’s response, stating, “This tailored support for pubs will alleviate the immediate financial challenges posed by rising business costs and help maintain operations for many establishments.”
