Fashion retailer Quiz has entered administration, resulting in the loss of 109 jobs. The job cuts are affecting staff at the company’s headquarters in Glasgow and its warehouse in Lanarkshire. The Quiz website is currently offline, and customers are being informed that pending online orders will be canceled.
In response to the administration, Quiz is not providing refunds to customers. Instead, they are advised to seek reimbursement from their bank or credit card issuer. Customers who made purchases exceeding £100 with a credit card may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. For those who paid with a debit card or spent less than £100 on a credit card, they may consider utilizing Chargeback for purchases made within the last 120 days.
Alternatively, customers have the option to exchange unwanted items at physical Quiz stores for products of equal value. The company has ceased online operations entirely. Quiz has initiated stock clearance sales across its branches, but gift cards are no longer being accepted.
Quiz, established in 1993 in Glasgow, Scotland, has 40 stores in the UK and concessions in New Look and Matalan stores. The company’s operations in the Republic of Ireland, including seven concessions, are part of the administration. Despite this setback, Quiz is continuing to trade its stores and concessions in Ireland while exploring potential business solutions.
This marks the second time Quiz has faced administration within a year. Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs from Interpath have been appointed as joint administrators. McAlinden expressed their commitment to sustaining business operations during the assessment period. Interested parties looking to acquire Quiz’s assets are urged to contact the administrators promptly.
