A young boy from Calgary who was saved from drowning in a river in British Columbia is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital, with his family revealing that his lungs have suffered severe damage. Nine-year-old Paul-Angelo Warren was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby on August 3 when he failed to resurface after a dive. His mother, Maria Warren, recounted that bystanders at the beach quickly came to his aid, pulling him out of the water mere minutes after he went missing. According to an official statement from the RCMP, the river’s strong current had trapped the boy against fallen trees before he was rescued and administered CPR on the shore. Authorities suspect that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Paul-Angelo is currently receiving care at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, where his family remains by his side.
