A registered sex offender who recorded children at schools has been placed in a residence near three nurseries. Brian Wilkinson, 64, covertly filmed children in school playgrounds, parks, and public changing rooms, sharing the illicit material online with predators worldwide.
Wilkinson amassed a collection of 100,000 indecent photos depicting children as young as six months engaged in abusive acts. Despite serving a five-year prison sentence, he now resides in a supported living facility in Greater Manchester, located in close proximity to multiple schools.
Surrounded by numerous children daily, Wilkinson’s residence is near a nursery across the street and within walking distance of two primary schools, including one catering to three-year-olds. He claimed to be reformed in an interview, stating he no longer films children and leads a reclusive life.
Initially arrested after filming youngsters in a park, Wilkinson was found to possess a substantial number of indecent images during a police raid in 2001. He admitted to 41 charges related to child pornography and was imprisoned for five years, also receiving a ban on working with children and placement on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
The council responsible for Wilkinson’s accommodation emphasized their commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals. They clarified that the individual had been removed from the sex offenders register before transitioning to his current housing over four-and-a-half years ago. Community safety remains a top priority, with no reported concerns regarding Wilkinson’s behavior since his relocation.
