Nationwide led the way with 41,450 customers switching to their services between July and September, attracted by incentives like a £175 switching offer and annual £100 bonus payments in their profit-sharing program. Monzo and NatWest gained 9,934 and 8,731 customers, respectively, during this period. The busiest quarter was the final three months of 2025, with 350,114 current account switches as reported by the Current Account Switch Service (CASS). The total number of switches in 2025 was 1,054,521, although lower than in 2023 and 2024 when interest rates were higher.
Conversely, Santander lost nearly 20,000 current accounts, Halifax saw 17,341 customers switching out, and JP Morgan’s Chase lost 7,623 accounts.
