150 corgis gathered for an international race in Vilnius, Lithuania, celebrating the small herding dogs from Wales. The event included a costume parade, a “smartest nose” challenge, and a loud bark competition. Participants from nine countries, including the United States and Britain, competed in various events.
Organizer Edvinas Miskas mentioned the significant growth of the event from 40 corgis in the first year to 150 from multiple countries in the latest edition. The competition featured a running event with 94 dogs competing, and the winner in the final race over 25 meters was GG, an American corgi named Gustave the Girl Dog.
Aside from speed, the event showcased the dogs’ talents and their owners’ skills. The program included a costume parade with creative outfits, a “smartest nose” challenge where corgis searched for hidden treats, and a competition for the loudest bark won by Mr. Corgington.
Veteran participants and newcomers added to the event’s excitement, with some corgis attending every edition. The diverse and entertaining competition highlighted the unique attributes of these beloved canine companions.
