A 26-year-old woman, Megan Isherwood, was rushed to the hospital with suspected appendicitis but surprisingly ended up giving birth to a baby boy shortly after. Megan experienced severe pains in her right side and began vomiting blood, prompting doctors at Blackpool Hospital to conduct ultrasound and CT scans. To their amazement, they discovered that Megan was actually pregnant, despite a recent negative pregnancy test. While en route to Burnley Hospital, Megan unexpectedly gave birth to a baby boy named Jackson, weighing 4.6lbs on September 9.
Megan, a bar manager from Burnley, Lancashire, expressed her disbelief at the sudden turn of events, stating that she had no prior signs of pregnancy. She described the experience as a miracle and wished that Jackson had given her some indication before his sudden arrival.
The sequence of events leading to Jackson’s birth began when Megan felt unwell at 4 pm and called her friend, Gabbie Rose, for assistance. Gabbie noticed Megan’s condition and advised her to seek medical attention, leading to an ambulance being called. Upon arrival at Blackburn Hospital, Megan experienced a sudden gush of blood, prompting urgent medical intervention.
Despite being born 33 weeks premature and facing initial health complications, Jackson was resuscitated by paramedics and admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Both Megan and Jackson were diagnosed with sepsis but made full recoveries after receiving antibiotics.
After a few days, Jackson stopped breathing twice but was successfully revived each time by medical staff. Megan expressed her astonishment at the unexpected turn of events and praised the support she received from her community in providing supplies for Jackson. Jackson was discharged from the hospital on September 25 and has been thriving at home with his mother since then.
Megan shared her gratitude for the kindness shown by her community and marveled at the remarkable journey she and Jackson had been through.
