“Keir Starmer Dodges Trump Nobel Prize Question Amid Gaza Ceasefire Relief”

Keir Starmer avoided addressing inquiries about the potential awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump, a desire the US President has long expressed. Prime Minister, in response to the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, described it as a significant moment of relief for the international community, potentially leading to the release of hostages and the cessation of violence that has resulted in numerous casualties in Gaza.

During a press briefing in Mumbai, India, Mr. Starmer commended President Trump for his involvement in the negotiations alongside Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. When asked about the possibility of Trump receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, a goal he openly covets, Starmer evaded the question but acknowledged the significant progress made with Trump’s leadership.

Earlier this year, Trump remarked that he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize but believed he would never receive it. Starmer also dismissed queries regarding former Labour PM Tony Blair’s rumored role in the Gaza peace plan, emphasizing the importance of the achieved deal and its potential positive impact on those affected by the conflict in Gaza.

The focus, according to the Prime Minister, should be on implementing the agreement rather than discussing individuals involved. He highlighted the UK’s behind-the-scenes contributions to the negotiations and expressed readiness to assist in the implementation process.
