“Family’s Vacation Nightmare: Deadly Intruders Attack”

A joyful family vacation turned into a nightmare when two intruders committed a heinous act. Kaye and Rolf Tiede, along with their daughters Linae and Tricia, and Kaye’s mother, Beth Potts, embarked on a snowy mountain cabin retreat just days before Christmas.

Unbeknownst to them, ex-convicts Edward Steven Deli and Von Lester Taylor, recently released from prison for theft, had already broken into the secluded cabin with intentions to rob. Upon the family’s arrival, the criminals held them at gunpoint, leading to a tragic series of events.

The assailants fatally shot Kaye and Beth before turning on Rolf, who miraculously survived a gunshot to the face. Rolf, left for dead, managed to escape the burning cabin and seek help, while the intruders kidnapped Tricia and Linae, forcing them to assist in their escape on snowmobiles.

Despite the harrowing ordeal, the sisters managed to alert a family member of their distress. The police eventually caught up with the kidnappers, leading to a dramatic rescue of the surviving siblings. The tragic incident culminated in the capture and subsequent sentencing of the perpetrators.

Taylor received a death penalty for two counts of capital murder, while Deli, claiming innocence in the fatal shootings, was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. The surviving family members later rebuilt the cabin as a symbol of resilience and strength against the perpetrators’ actions.
