In the search for a missing British man who disappeared in Spain, a body has been discovered. Marc Tulloch Hewson was last seen in the Los Balcones area of Torrevieja on September 20. He had recently left his residence in Orihuela Costa and was admitted to Torrevieja Hospital before going missing after discharge in the early hours of September 19.
Reports from the Olive Press indicate that Hewson, whose mental health was deteriorating, was spotted collecting bottles in Los Balcones without shoes or identification. His body, believed to be his, was retrieved from the water at the fishing port of Aguilas in Murcia, with no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
An appeal was made by Marc’s wife, Catherine, on October 7, who had been actively involved in the search efforts. During a ground search with his sister Fiona Crowther, Marc’s body was found and identified. The community expressed gratitude for the support received during the search, acknowledging the unfortunate outcome but appreciating the assistance given to the family and friends of Marc Hewson.
