President Donald Trump has revealed that Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has sought a pardon after being sentenced by a New York judge recently. Speaking to journalists in the Oval Office at the White House, President Trump mentioned that Puff Daddy, as he calls him, has made the request for a pardon.
The rapper, who received a four-year and two-month sentence along with a substantial $500,000 fine, the maximum penalty allowed by the judge, was heard apologizing to his mother and children before leaving the courtroom. Trump previously indicated that he may not grant a pardon to Diddy.
Diddy’s lawyers, Marc Agnifilo and Brian Steel, announced their intention to appeal the sentencing, citing concerns about the jury’s verdict on coercion and the judge’s repeated use of the term coercion during the proceedings.
Although acquitted of more severe charges of racketeering and sex trafficking in July, Diddy was found guilty of two counts related to transportation for prostitution, a violation of the Mann Act, after 13 hours of jury deliberation. The music mogul, who remained in custody until his sentencing, faces the possibility of over 11 years in prison.
In a letter submitted to the judge before sentencing, Diddy expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledging his mistakes and seeking redemption. He emphasized his transformation during his time behind bars and pleaded for a second chance to become a positive example for others.
Reflecting on his past behavior and seeking forgiveness, Diddy highlighted his commitment to change and his desire to mend relationships with those he has hurt. He urged the judge to consider his plea for mercy, not just for himself but for the sake of his children.
