“Blue Jays’ Guerrero Jr. on Injured List; Cameron & Tiedemann Called Up”

The Toronto Blue Jays placed Vladimir Guerrero Jr., a six-time All-Star, on the seven-day injured list on Saturday due to concussion symptoms. In his place, outfielder Daz Cameron was called up from Triple-A Buffalo. To accommodate Cameron on the 40-man roster, right-hander Lazaro Estrada was designated for assignment.

Additionally, on the same day, the Blue Jays brought up left-hander Ricky Tiedemann from Buffalo while sending right-hander Chase Lee down to Triple-A. Guerrero exited Friday’s game against the Yankees after a collision with New York rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. at third base during the sixth inning. Lombard attempted to jump over Guerrero but ended up hitting him in the head with his knee and thigh, causing Guerrero’s helmet to come off. Despite the impact, Guerrero managed to score a run before leaving the game.

Manager John Schneider mentioned that Guerrero experienced a headache after the collision, which persisted into Saturday. Guerrero currently holds a batting average of .263 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs. Tiedemann, who had a record of 0-1 and a 6.43 ERA in seven games (including two starts) across three minor league levels this season, was also part of the roster changes.
