Expect more police presence, closure of asylum hotels, and the opening of new health centers in your vicinity. Investments in community amenities like parks, piers, and youth clubs will enhance the pride of your town. Moreover, improvements in work rights and housing conditions, particularly for renters, are on the horizon. Progress will also be made in significantly reducing child poverty.
Recently, a poignant letter from a nine-year-old Scottish girl highlighted the harsh realities of child poverty. Her words underscored the impact of hunger, cold living conditions, and the struggles faced by children from working families. This year, our focus will be on lifting over half a million children out of poverty by eliminating the two-child limit on child benefit, expanding free school meal programs, and addressing the rising cost of living.
