The feedback highlighted people feeling unheard by politicians and grappling with the high costs of essentials, including childcare, veterinary expenses, and basic needs like heating and food. The pressing issue of affordability continues to dominate daily life for many individuals.
Accepting a position as a Labour peer, my aim is to bring practical insights from the retail sector to Westminster, amplifying the voices of businesses and communities across the UK. I look forward to contributing my experience as a retailer and entrepreneur, emphasizing the importance of providing quality, affordable food and sustaining employment for many.
