An American mother, dubbed as the “worst ever,” has been arrested and charged with sexual assault for allegedly giving birth to a child fathered by her daughter’s 14-year-old school dance companion. Robyn Polston, aged 43, was apprehended by the Washington Police Department on November 3. Legal documents indicate that she stands accused of delivering a baby in January, with the alleged father being her daughter’s teenage acquaintance.
Polston is facing two charges of criminal sexual assault involving a victim aged between 13 and 17, along with two counts of possessing child pornography. If found guilty, she could potentially receive a maximum sentence of 15 years for each offense. Currently held without bail, she is scheduled for arraignment next month and has not yet entered a plea.
Following a tip received after the birth, authorities initiated an investigation as outlined in a probable cause affidavit. The baby’s birth certificate was obtained on February 13, revealing that the newborn shared the same middle and last name as the alleged victim.
During questioning about the father’s identity, Polston reportedly identified him as a man named Brian in his twenties, claiming he had disappeared post-birth. Subsequently, DNA samples were collected from Polston, the infant, and the teenager. Results confirmed that the boy and Polston were biologically related. Investigative findings also indicated that Polston had acted as a chaperone at a school dance attended by the teenager and her daughter in May 2023.
A search warrant executed on Google accounts connected to the teenager’s mobile phone revealed sexually explicit images and videos involving Polston and the minor. Assistant State’s Attorney Cassandra Mullikin determined that Polston had taken the images after reviewing the material. Prosecutors allege that both Polston and the minor used burner phones and stored each other’s contact information under false names to evade detection.
There are further allegations that Polston tried to persuade the teenager to conceal evidence of their relationship. Prosecutors requested her continued detention pending trial, citing concerns about her compliance with court orders and the potential for further contact with the teenager. Polston will remain in custody until her court appearance on December 4.
