“M62 Crash Causes Major Delays, Two Lanes Closed”

A crash on the M62 has led to the closure of two lanes this evening, causing significant traffic delays. The eastbound section between junction 24 near Huddersfield and junction 25 close to Brighouse has been blocked off for drivers. Emergency services, including police, fire crews, paramedics, and Highways Officers, are at the scene to manage the situation.

Motorists have been advised to anticipate long delays as traffic congestion continues to worsen. National Highways has confirmed that the incident has been resolved, and all lanes on the M62 eastbound in West Yorkshire have reopened between junctions 24 and 25.

Despite the lanes reopening, a 50-minute delay is still expected in the area, but it should gradually improve. Live traffic service Inrix reported severe delays on the M62 following a multi-vehicle collision earlier. The crash involved three vehicles on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 24 and 25.

At least six emergency response vehicles are present, including two ambulances, two fire trucks, and two police cars. Drivers are currently facing hour-long delays in the vicinity of the M62 closure, with congestion stretching for at least four miles. National Highways stated that emergency teams are actively working on clearing the area.

As of now, two lanes remain closed to traffic on the eastbound carriageway between junction 24 for Huddersfield and junction 25 for Brighouse.
