Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck made a public appearance together at the New York City premiere of “Kiss of the Spider Woman.” The former couple graced the red carpet on Monday evening for Jennifer’s latest movie. Directed by Bill Condon of “Chicago” fame, the musical drama stars J.Lo alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. Ben co-produced the adaptation through Artists Equity, his company with friend Matt Damon.
This marked the first public sighting of Jennifer and Ben since finalizing their divorce in February. The pair seemed cordial and happy as they interacted and posed for photos at the event.
Jennifer looked stunning in a floral gown with a spider-like appliqué from Harris Reed’s spring 2026 collection, while Ben opted for a timeless navy blue suit.
During an interview at the premiere, Ben praised Jennifer’s performance in the film, calling her “amazing” and highlighting her dedication and talent. Jennifer, in turn, expressed gratitude to Ben for his contribution to the movie and the support from Artists Equity.
The couple, known as “Bennifer” during their initial relationship, first got engaged in 2002 but split in 2004. They rekindled their romance nearly twenty years later and tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, they separated in August 2024, with Jennifer filing for divorce on their second anniversary, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in February 2025.
Discussing the film’s theme of escapism and the role of art in difficult times, Jennifer shared that working on the project was a dream come true for her and provided solace during a challenging personal period.
The star-studded premiere also saw the attendance of celebrities like Spike Lee, Whoopi Goldberg, and Harvey Guillén, among others.
“Kiss of the Spider Woman” originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, receiving positive reviews and currently holding an 82% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie is set to hit theaters on October 10.
