The company that owns Revolution bars has announced a deadline for bids next week as it seeks a buyer. The Revel Collective, which operates 62 venues under various brands, including Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba, decided to put itself up for sale in October 2025 due to declining sales. Potential buyers are required to submit offers by January 9, with FTI Consulting assisting in the sale process.
Neos Hospitality has shown interest in acquiring some sites owned by The Revel Collective, but it is uncertain whether they will submit a bid. The Mirror reached out to The Revel Collective, formerly known as Revolution Bars, for a response. The company had initiated a sales process in April 2024 but halted it after rejecting an offer from Nightcap.
In 2024, the business closed approximately 36 sites as part of a restructuring plan approved by the High Court. Revenue dropped by 7.4% to £26.3 million in the three months leading to September, mainly driven by a 10.5% decline in like-for-like sales in its bars division. The company cited challenging economic conditions and government interventions as factors affecting its performance.
Debts increased to £25.3 million from £22.1 million by the end of June, with cost-of-living pressures impacting sales among younger customers. Luke Johnson, former Pizza Express executive, assumed the role of chairman of The Revel Collective in September. Johnson expressed interest in acquiring companies with unique qualities to become market leaders.
