“Peaky Blinders Revived: New Series Confirmed!”

The return of Peaky Blinders has been officially confirmed by the BBC, with the announcement of two upcoming series. Fans can anticipate the much-adored drama’s comeback on both the BBC and Netflix platforms, as it delves into the narrative of a new era for the Shelby family, conceived by writer and creator Steven Knight. These two fresh installments will once again be filmed in the heart of Birmingham at Digbeth Loc. Studios.

The sixth season of Peaky Blinders concluded in 2022, showcasing Tommy Shelby embarking on a new journey distanced from the criminal underworld. After realizing his terminal cancer diagnosis was a deception, the mob leader bid farewell to his kin as he embraced a brighter future free from his shadowy past.

The next phase in Thomas Shelby’s tale, portrayed by Cillian Murphy, will unfold in the Netflix movie, “The Immortal Man,” featuring the Irish actor alongside Stephen Graham and Barry Keoghan, with production wrapped up in December.

The latest development from the BBC signifies a new chapter in Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, set in Birmingham in 1953 amidst the city’s reconstruction post-Second World War. Steven Knight, the creator and writer of Peaky Blinders, expressed excitement for this fresh narrative, rooted in Birmingham’s resurgence following the Birmingham blitz, with the new generation of Shelbys steering the storyline.

Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, commended the show’s impact since its debut 12 years ago and eagerly anticipates the realization of Steven Knight’s scripts during filming in Birmingham. The collaboration with Kudos, Garrison Drama, and Netflix promises an enthralling journey for Peaky Blinders fans.

Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, highlighted the global phenomenon of Peaky Blinders and its positive influence on tourism and global recognition. The production’s return to Birmingham signifies forthcoming job opportunities for locals, solidifying the region as a creative hub.

The two forthcoming series, each comprising 6 episodes of 60 minutes, are collaborative efforts between Kudos, Garrison Drama, BBC iPlayer, BBC One in the UK, and Netflix globally. The production is supported by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and marks the initial commission under the new BBC partnership agreement with WMCA and Create Central to enhance production investments in the West Midlands.
