A British man tragically passed away after being struck by three vehicles in a motorcycle accident. The victim, Craig Davies, 50, originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, lost his life in the incident that occurred in Chiang Mai, Thailand, around 12:20 am local time.
Davies lost control of his KTM 1290 Super Duke near an underpass on the Chiang Mai-Lampang Highway, leading to him falling off his motorcycle and subsequently being hit by three vehicles, resulting in his death at the scene.
Described as a “deeply traumatic” event by Police Lieutenant Colonel Adulsiri Wongtankard of the Mae Ping Police Station, the authorities are actively investigating the crash. The security camera footage is being reviewed, and efforts are being made to identify the drivers involved in the accident.
Following the incident, Craig’s body underwent a post mortem examination at the Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, with the police emphasizing their commitment to ensuring justice in the case.
Craig, who resided in Thailand and had been traveling across Southeast Asia, was engaged in two remote businesses specializing in health supplies: Natures Syngergy in East London and Isomist in Wakefield.
The Chiang Mai Special Rescue Unit issued a cautionary message to motorists, highlighting the importance of exercising care, especially on sloped roads during nighttime, to prevent accidents caused by wet or dusty surfaces and high speeds.
Heartfelt messages and tributes have been shared in memory of the late businessman, with his close friend Aomkhwan Pronpan expressing gratitude and bidding him a peaceful journey.
