Health Secretary Wes Streeting condemned Pochin’s remarks as disgraceful, emphasizing the need for a response from Farage. Deputy PM David Lammy also joined the calls for Pochin to be held accountable for her comments.
In response to the backlash, Pochin apologized for any offense caused by her statement but maintained her view that many advertisements do not accurately represent British society. Streeting suggested that Pochin’s apology was insincere and that she is remorseful only because she faced criticism.
Lammy labeled Pochin’s statements as mean and racist, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and respect for all individuals in society. He urged Farage to take action against Pochin and offer an apology for her remarks, expressing his disappointment on behalf of the nation.
Reform UK has been contacted for comment on the matter. Turley directly addressed Farage, highlighting the need for a response to Pochin’s comments and urging him to take a clear stance on the issue. Turley emphasized the gravity of the situation and called for immediate action to address the racist remarks made by Pochin.
