“Perpetrator of Deadly House Fire, Paul Mosley, Passes Away”

Paul Mosley, the individual responsible for the deaths of six children in a house fire, has passed away, as confirmed by his family.

The 58-year-old’s death was announced by a family member, along with a relative of the six children who tragically lost their lives in the fire that Mosley, along with Mick and Mairead Philpott, intentionally started in Allenton, Derbyshire, on May 11, 2012.

After a seven-week trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Mosley and the Philpotts were found guilty of six counts of manslaughter for the deaths of Duwayne Philpott, 13, his sister Jade, 10, and brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jessie, six, and Jayden, five, in the tragic incident.

During the sentencing in 2013, Justice Mrs. Kate Thirlwell KC stated, “All three of you are accountable for the deliberate setting of that fire and the subsequent deaths of the children. Michael Philpott, you were the main instigator of this dangerous plan, with Mairead Philpott and Paul Mosley aiding you in its execution.”

The judge emphasized the severity of the act, highlighting the risks the children faced due to the deliberate fire-setting and the defendants’ callous actions in trying to cover up their involvement.

Philpott, now 69, was sentenced to life in prison, while his wife, now 44, and Mosley received 17-year prison terms. Mosley was temporarily released in 2021 but was later recalled to prison, only to be released again in November 2023.
