“IMPOSE TOI Wins Howden Long Walk Hurdle, Eyes Cheltenham Glory”

IMPOSE TOI secured his first Grade 1 victory in the Howden Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, solidifying his position as a top stayer. Trained by Nicky Henderson, the seven-year-old had previously triumphed in the Grade Two Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury, surpassing Strong Leader.

In a remarkable display of progress, Impose Toi widened the gap to a length and a quarter over his rival, despite facing tougher conditions. Honest Policy, the 11-4 favorite, finished third just a neck behind Impose Toi.

Following the win, Ladbrokes adjusted Impose Toi’s odds to 5-1 for the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Henderson praised the performance, emphasizing the flawless execution by the horse and jockey.

The victory set a positive tone for owner JP McManus ahead of the festive season. McManus expressed his desire to secure a long-awaited victory in the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day with Fact To File.

With excitement building for the upcoming race, McManus is optimistic about his chances, aiming to break his long-standing streak of near misses in the prestigious event.
