The PDC has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her actions during her recent match against Dave Chisnall at the World Championship. Sherrock playfully imitated a gesture involving a drinks table that her ex-boyfriend, Cameron Menzies, had been reprimanded for earlier in the week.
Menzies, who ended up with injuries after venting his frustration on a table following a loss to Charlie Manby, had dated Sherrock for four years before their amicable separation earlier this year. PDC’s chief executive, Matt Porter, emphasized their willingness to support Menzies if needed, prioritizing his well-being.
Both Sherrock and Menzies faced early exits from the tournament. Sherrock struggled with her doubles against Chisnall, leading to a 3-0 defeat. Menzies, seeded 26th, held leads but eventually lost to Manby. He attributed his emotional reaction partly to personal difficulties, including the recent passing of his uncle.
Chisnall acknowledged the competitiveness of his match against Sherrock, noting that her performance could have changed the outcome with better double conversions. He now advances to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round.
Young talent Beau Greaves will kick off her World Championship journey against Daryl Gurney, with the winner meeting Callan Rydz in the following round. The tournament features exciting prospects, including defending champion Luke Littler and challenger Luke Humphries.
