An online personality was taken into custody for allegedly instructing a criminal group to inflict harm on two individuals who reportedly trespassed into her residence. Izabela Paiva, 26, was apprehended following a police operation against organized crime. Authorities stated that she became aware of the break-in at her home in Porto Velho, situated in the heart of Brazil’s Amazon region, while she was away.
Instead of contacting law enforcement, she purportedly directed members of the feared Comando Vermelho gang to confront the intruders, mete out punishment, and recover her stolen belongings. The Rondônia State Civil Police condemned her decision to bypass the authorities despite being fully aware of the gravity of the situation, accusing her of pursuing personal vendetta outside the legal system.
Law enforcement suspects that Paiva not only maintains close connections with Comando Vermelho but might also be an active member of the group. Known for showcasing a lavish lifestyle on social media, flaunting possessions like jet skis, stacks of money, and luxury vehicles to her substantial following, Paiva is associated with one of Brazil’s most established criminal organizations.
Comando Vermelho, notorious for engaging in drug trade, weapon smuggling, and various illegal activities across multiple regions, frequently engages in violent conflicts with rival groups such as the Primeiro Comando da Capital. The operation leading to Paiva’s arrest was codenamed “Arur Betach,” a Hebrew phrase signifying “cursed is the one who trusts,” a message she allegedly shared on social media shortly after the burglary incident.
This incident follows an investigation initiated in the country after the mysterious deaths of an influencer and her teenage daughter, discovered following concerns raised by neighbors. Lidiane Aline Lorenco, 33, and her 15-year-old daughter, Miana Sophya Santos, were tragically found deceased in their apartment on the 11th floor after neighbors reported a foul smell emanating from the unit and a lack of communication from the residents. Firefighters, responding to the reports, eventually gained entry to the flat and discovered the deceased individuals.
