Newly released 911 audio has unveiled information about a fake emergency call directed at D4vd’s family residence in Texas shortly after the discovery of Celeste Rivas’ body.
The audio from the September 18 incident, known as “swatting,” at D4vd’s Texas home has emerged, shedding light on the events following Rivas’ death. The recording, obtained by TMZ, captures a caller falsely reporting a shooting, leading to a significant police response that left the singer’s family unsettled.
In the audio clip, the caller appears to use a voice-altering device to report gunfire near D4vd’s home. The caller claimed to have heard gunshots and a woman screaming, expressing concern that “someone might be dead.” They provided D4vd’s complete address in Texas during the call.
Law enforcement treated the call as a genuine emergency, promptly dispatching multiple units to the residence. Upon arrival, officers were met by D4vd’s parents, who seemed bewildered and perplexed, as recorded on body camera audio. D4vd’s father repeatedly mentioned that they were being targeted.
After less than 20 minutes on the scene, authorities deemed the call a hoax.
Authorities now suspect that the swatting incident was linked to the heightened online attention surrounding D4vd, also known as David Burke, following the discovery of Rivas’ body.
Rivas’ dismembered remains were found in Burke’s impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard. This discovery occurred just prior to the swatting incident.
Rivas had been reported missing from her California home in Lake Elsinore in 2024, with investigators determining that she had likely been deceased for several weeks before being located.
According to sources, friends of D4vd believed Rivas was 14 at the time of her death, while some of the singer’s acquaintances thought she was 19.
Despite sparking widespread speculation online, authorities have not implicated D4vd as a suspect in the case. No further details have been disclosed regarding the cause or timing of Rivas’ death.
Following these events, D4vd has largely retreated from public view, canceling tour dates and delaying the release of his deluxe album, Withered.
The singer, renowned for his hit single “Here With Me,” has refrained from making any public statements since late September.
The release of the 911 audio recording adds another dimension to the unfolding narrative surrounding Rivas’ death and its repercussions.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether they are investigating the false emergency call or the individual responsible for making it.
