“Diddy Requests Prison Transfer for Drug Treatment”

Sean “Diddy” Combs has made a request to be transferred to a different prison facility to serve his 50-month sentence. Diddy is seeking to relocate to a low-security prison in New Jersey, specifically FCI Fort Dix, citing its drug treatment program as a crucial factor. His legal team sent a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian on October 6, urging the Federal Bureau of Prisons to consider placing Diddy at FCI Fort Dix instead of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he is currently held.

Diddy has been in custody at MDC since his arrest in September 2024. According to one of his lawyers, Teny Geragos, the drug treatment program at FCI Fort Dix could help address Diddy’s substance abuse issues. This move follows recent developments regarding a potential pardon for Diddy by President Donald Trump.

The letter emphasized the importance of addressing Diddy’s drug abuse issues and maximizing his family visitation and rehabilitation opportunities by recommending his placement at FCI Fort Dix. Located approximately 64 miles southwest of New York City on the joint military base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, the facility houses fewer than 3,900 inmates.

Over the years, FCI Fort Dix has been home to several notable inmates, including individuals like Joe Giudice, Charles “Lucky” Luciano, Kwame Kilpatrick, and Martin Shkreli. While Judge Subramanian has yet to make a final decision on the recommendation for FCI Fort Dix, Diddy’s legal team has indicated their intention to appeal his sentence.

Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering charges. His time served since his arrest will be factored into his sentence, which also includes a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release.

Despite concluding his federal trial, Diddy faces multiple civil lawsuits, all of which he has denied. Recent reports have suggested that the rapper narrowly avoided a violent incident in prison and is considered a target by fellow inmates.
