The incident involved the marine flying to Chicago, meeting the girl at a park, and spending a night with her at a hotel before being arrested upon arrival in Durham, North Carolina.
The girl was reported missing by her grandmother, prompting law enforcement involvement. Roy is facing multiple charges, including enticing and transporting a minor across state lines for illicit purposes. The FBI’s intervention came after a report from Hammond, Indiana, about the missing girl, leading to Roy’s arrest.
According to the Indianapolis FBI statement, Roy is accused of traveling from North Carolina to Indiana to meet, abduct, and potentially assault the 12-year-old girl. The investigation revealed Roy’s movements from Chicago to Hammond and eventually to Durham, where he was taken into custody along with the safe recovery of the child.
