“Michael J Fox Reveals Inability to Walk Due to Parkinson’s”

Michael J Fox has shared that due to sustaining numerous fractures in his battle against Parkinson’s disease, he is no longer able to walk.

The renowned actor from Hollywood has been combating this progressive neurological ailment since 1991, when he was merely 29 years old. Michael, now 64, made his diagnosis public seven years ago and has since been providing regular updates on his health.

He recently shared that his condition has progressed to the extent that walking has become impossible for him. Michael expressed his fear of moving too much due to the risk of falls resulting from multiple bone fractures. Speaking to The Sunday Times, he recounted how he began experiencing fractures while performing daring stunts like somersaults over others and sliding across car hoods during the peak of his acting career.

He recounted, “That’s when I’d end up breaking something, the things I broke were unbelievable.

“Over a three-year span, I fractured my elbow, hand, suffered a severe hand infection, and almost lost a finger.” He added, “I take things easy now, I don’t walk as much. While I am still capable of walking, it’s not graceful and poses some risk.”

Despite his health challenges, Michael continues to be a prominent advocate for Parkinson’s Disease. He founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which has raised over $2 billion to support research for groundbreaking discoveries and treatments.

In 2020, Michael stepped away from acting due to his health issues. He recently made a guest appearance on Apple TV’s critically acclaimed series Shrinking and is currently promoting his fifth book, Future Boy.

He shared with People, “Observing the work of others motivates me to explore opportunities that suit me as an actor and writer. As a spouse, parent, and friend, I believe I have much more to accomplish.”
