“Luke Littler to Begin Title Defense Against Labanauskas”

Luke Littler is set to begin his title defense at the upcoming PDC World Darts Championship by facing off against Darius Labanauskas at Alexandra Palace next month. The draw for the tournament was conducted on Monday afternoon.

Having clinched the 2025 world championship title by defeating Michael van Gerwen earlier this year, the 18-year-old Littler has been on a winning streak, securing victories at prestigious events like the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, and Players Championship. Following his recent ascent to the top ranking position, Littler is in prime form as he prepares to defend his World Championship crown.

Dubbed as ‘The Nuke’, Luke Littler has learned that his initial opponent in the 128-player tournament will be the top Lithuanian player, Labanauskas, a challenge that awaits the young talent from Warrington.

In other first-round matchups, Luke Humphries will take on Ted Evetts, while Michael van Gerwen is scheduled to face Mitsohiko Tatsunami, and Beau Greaves is set to compete against Daryl Gurney.

The complete list of the 64 first-round fixtures for the 2026 PDC World Championship includes exciting matchups such as Mario Vandenbogaerde versus David Davies, Joe Cullen against Bradley Brooks, and Mensur Suljovic pitted against David Cameron. The tournament promises thrilling encounters as top darts players from around the world vie for victory.
