A joyful day celebrating a beloved four-year-old turned tragic as the young girl was suddenly orphaned. Military police officer Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, 37, and Ana Carolina Silva, 41, a nail salon owner, marked their daughter’s birthday with family at a local food park in Sao Jose, Brazil.
The couple, together for nearly two decades, continued the celebration at a nightclub after dropping off their child at Jeferson’s sister’s house. They checked into the Dallas Motel just past midnight and were last seen alive around 11:30 pm.
When Jeferson and Ana did not return to retrieve their daughter, concerns arose. Sadly, the couple was found deceased in their motel room bathtub. Although no physical injuries were evident, investigations revealed the water temperature had reached 50C with a high-functioning space heater.
Toxicology reports showed elevated levels of cocaine and alcohol in both Jeferson and Ana. Authorities determined the couple likely lost consciousness in the overheated bath due to substance poisoning, resulting in heatstroke and organ failure.
While the police concluded their investigation attributing the deaths to a combination of factors, Ana’s family suspects foul play and demands justice. The family refutes claims of Ana being a drug user, emphasizing the need for a thorough and impartial inquiry to uncover the truth.
