“Steiner Eyes Oliver Bearman as Potential Successor to Hamilton at Ferrari”

Guenther Steiner, the former Haas team principal, has raised concerns about Lewis Hamilton’s future at Ferrari following a lackluster debut season. Steiner, aged 60, has identified young talent Oliver Bearman as a potential successor to Hamilton’s position before the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Hamilton’s performance at Ferrari has sparked discussions due to his underwhelming start. If Hamilton’s subpar form persists in the upcoming season, Steiner suggests that the seven-time world champion’s tenure with the Italian team could be shortened.

Bearman has ties to Ferrari, having substituted for Carlos Sainz at the previous season’s Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and later joining Ferrari’s Driving Academy in 2022. His impressive performance with Haas this year has caught Steiner’s attention, who views Bearman as a strong contender to replace Hamilton.

During a segment on ‘Gas or Brake’ in The Red Flags podcast, Steiner expressed his support for Bearman potentially taking over Hamilton’s spot, emphasizing Bearman’s remarkable progress and skills on the track.

Despite ongoing speculations about his future, Hamilton hinted that he intends to stay with Ferrari for the foreseeable future, citing his existing contract. “I have a pretty long contract,” Hamilton mentioned, indicating that discussions about his future are premature.
