Dollyfest, a music festival celebrating the life of Dolly Parton, is scheduled to take place in 2027 without the iconic singer. Originally planned to coincide with Parton’s 80th birthday, the festival was postponed last September due to health issues. However, Parton’s estate has confirmed that the “star-studded” event will still happen in Nashville and London over two consecutive weekends next year.
Known as the “Queen of Country,” Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind a legion of mourning fans. Renowned for hits like “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “9 to 5,” she was admired for her humor, sparkling attire, and extensive philanthropic work.
Organizers promise that Dollyfest will be a tribute to the vibrant spirit Parton embodied. While details about the festival, including specific dates and musical lineup, remain undisclosed, it is expected to encapsulate the essence of her remarkable legacy.
The festival holds significance in both Nashville, where Parton resided before her passing, and London, a city she frequented throughout her career, performing at venues like Wembley Arena during her initial overseas tour.
In addition to Dollyfest, various tributes have emerged following Parton’s demise, honoring her contributions to music and education through initiatives like the Imagination Library. Dollywood, the theme park she developed in the Great Smoky Mountains, announced plans to commemorate her with new attractions and exhibits, inviting guests to share their memories and reflections on her enduring influence. The park will also feature elements inspired by her Imagination Library.
As a lasting tribute, Sevierville, Tennessee, Parton’s hometown, in collaboration with Dollywood, is launching “In Dolly’s Footsteps,” a city-wide project incorporating walking-tour markers highlighting significant locations in her life story, such as The Pines Theatre, where she performed her inaugural concert at the age of 10.
