Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has gone into administration, leading to the closure of its seven stores in the UK. The affected stores are located in London at Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards. This decision is expected to impact over 70 jobs.
While the company has temporarily halted online orders, a message on their website assures customers that they will be back soon. In the meantime, shoppers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products from third-party retailers such as Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
A spokesperson for Malin + Goetz stated, “After a thorough review of the business and exploring all options, we have made the difficult but necessary choice to place our UK operations into administration, leading to the closure of all UK stores and our head office. We understand the repercussions for our employees and customers, and the loss of jobs is unfortunate but unavoidable given the circumstances.”
The company plans to restore its website after a brief maintenance period, although the exact duration remains uncertain. Malin + Goetz was established in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offering six products suitable for all skin types before expanding into fragrance, body care, and other beauty segments.
