“Terrorist Attack at Heaton Park Synagogue: Suspect Killed, 6 Arrested”

A suspicious individual was seen at Heaton Park synagogue 15 minutes before a terrorist attack took place, as confirmed by authorities. The assailant, Jihad al-Shamie, a 35-year-old British citizen, targeted worshippers gathering for Yom Kippur prayers, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Tragically, security guard Melvin Cravitz, 66, lost his life in the knife attack carried out by al-Shamie, who was subsequently shot and killed by armed officers.

Adrian Daulby, 53, also lost his life while trying to prevent the attacker from entering the synagogue, believed to be a victim of police crossfire. Police conducted extensive investigations, setting up a large cordon in north Manchester and conducting searches, including in Farnworth, Bolton.

Recent developments include the arrest of three more individuals, bringing the total to six detainees. Among them are two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s, arrested on suspicion of terrorism-related activities. Laurence Taylor, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing, emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information to prevent delays in the inquiry process.

Taylor expressed condolences to the victims and their families, assuring that the authorities are committed to providing updates as the investigation progresses. The public is encouraged to report any relevant information to the police through the Major Incident Public Portal.
