“Tragic Deaths Hit Disney World Resort in Florida”

A man in his 60s tragically passed away at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, just a week after a young woman also lost her life at the theme park. The woman was discovered near Disney’s Contemporary Resort, with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirming it was an “apparent suicide.”

Tragedy struck again on Tuesday at 7:30 am when authorities responded to a call of a “Person Down” at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The man was found to have experienced a “medical episode” and was later pronounced dead in the hospital. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated that there were no signs of foul play.

The incident occurred at the Cottontail Curl campsite, one of the 21 camping grounds on the resort, leading to an emergency alert for all guests. This incident followed the death of Summer Equitz, 31, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on October 14 from “multiple blunt impact injuries,” as reported by the OCSO.

Contrary to early social media posts, the sheriff’s office clarified that Equitz was not struck by the resort’s monorail. Equitz, a resident of Naperville, was identified by the local medical examiner’s office. She had shared photos of her Disney park visits on social media.

Prior to the confirmation of her death, a now-deleted Reddit post described Equitz as a “missing person” who had flown to Florida to visit Disney without informing others. Disney has refrained from commenting on her death, and an investigation is underway.
