“Toxicology Report Reveals Details in Couple’s Tragic Hot Bath Deaths”

A recent toxicology report on a couple who tragically passed away in a scalding hot bath following their daughter’s birthday celebration has unveiled new details. Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, a military officer aged 37, and Ana Carolina Silva, a 41-year-old nail salon owner, were discovered lifeless in a motel room in Sao Jose, Brazil, on August 11.

The couple had spent the day commemorating their four-year-old daughter’s birthday at a food park and later went to a nightclub. After dropping their child off at Jeferson’s sister’s residence, they checked into the Dallas Motel around midnight, with the last sighting reported at 11:30 pm.

Concern arose when the couple failed to collect their daughter the following day, leading to a distressing revelation. Subsequently, they were found deceased in the bathtub of their motel room, with the water temperature reaching 50C and a high setting on a space heater.

A toxicology examination disclosed the presence of cocaine and notably elevated blood alcohol levels in both parents. Investigators, aided by CCTV footage and analysis of the couple’s vehicle, concluded that they had lost consciousness in the scorching water.

Chief Medical Examiner Andressa Boer Fronza stated that both deaths resulted from exogenous poisoning, leading to heatstroke, severe dehydration, thermal collapse, organ failure, and ultimately, death. The report emphasized that the combination of substances, alcohol, and extreme heat escalated the risk.

The family of Ana expressed concerns that she might have been involuntarily drugged, vehemently denying that she was a drug user and calling for a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter. They emphasized their intent to preserve Ana’s memory and dignity amidst speculations and misinformation.

In response to the police’s conclusions, Ana’s family vowed to uphold her legacy and seek justice, rejecting any unfounded assumptions tarnishing her reputation. Chief inspector Felipe Simao noted that despite their active social life, the couple did not have a drug habit, and there was no history of violence.

Friends described Jefferson and Ana Carolina, who had been together for nearly two decades, as dedicated parents and sociable individuals. Their daughter is now under the care of relatives following the tragic turn of events at her birthday celebration.
