“Newborn Baby Girl Abandoned at NYC Train Station”

A newborn baby girl, still connected to her umbilical cord, was discovered abandoned on the steps of a bustling train station during the Monday morning rush hour. The incident took place at the 34th Street–Penn Station stop in New York City, where the infant was found at around 9:30 a.m.

Upon finding the baby, a passerby promptly contacted emergency services, leading to a rapid response from authorities. The baby was conscious and responsive when emergency responders arrived and was subsequently taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

Law enforcement officials are currently examining surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the individual responsible for leaving the child at the station. As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

In a statement regarding the event, New York City Transit President Demetrius Crichlow referred to the occurrence as the ‘Miracle on 34th Street,’ noting that emergency services were alerted anonymously about the abandoned baby at the station.

This incident follows a recent case where a newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a cardboard box beside a road. Discovered by a passerby on Wednesday, September 24, the infant, believed to be just hours old, was swiftly taken to the hospital and confirmed to be in good health by medical professionals.

The baby, whose umbilical cord had already been cut, was located in Tuguegarao City, Philippines, according to a statement released by the Philippine National Police. Social worker May Asuncion mentioned that the baby is stable but will undergo observation at the hospital for up to five days to ensure her ongoing well-being.

Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the quick response of local citizens and authorities, emphasizing the PNP’s commitment to identifying the individual responsible for abandoning the child.
