Julia Roberts has not had the chance to listen to Taylor Swift’s latest album yet. The actress attended the premiere of her film “After the Hunt” in Los Angeles on October 4. The psychological thriller, directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Nora Garrett, centers on a college professor (Julia) whose student (Ayo Edebiri) accuses a fellow colleague (Andrew Garfield) of sexual assault.
During the premiere’s red carpet event, Variety asked Julia if she had heard Taylor’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which was released on October 3. Julia mentioned being busy with the current press tour for “After the Hunt” and expressed her admiration for Taylor as an artist.
Julia, a known fan of Taylor, previously attended the Eras Tour concert in Dublin on June 30, 2024, and another show in Chicago on June 4, 2023, where she praised Taylor on social media. She also took her children to a Taylor concert in 2015.
Taylor’s album “The Life of a Showgirl” was released on October 3 and has received mixed reviews. However, it set a record on Spotify as the most-streamed album in a single day this year in less than 11 hours. The accompanying film to the album, “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” made $15.8 million on its opening day and is playing until October 5 in AMC theaters.
Julia also shared the story behind her hot pink dress worn at the premiere, mentioning its significance for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She highlighted that she wore the same dress to another event three years ago in honor of a friend who is a breast cancer survivor.
