Last month, he suffered a stroke, and just a day after celebrating his 67th birthday on October 3, he passed away.
Born to Ike Turner and Lorraine Taylor in 1958, Tina Turner later adopted him when she married Ike Sr. Ike Jr. grew up in the music industry with his parents and followed their path by working as a sound engineer behind the scenes.
TMZ first reported his death, leading to an outpouring of support from fans on social media. Many expressed their condolences and sadness over the news.
Despite working with Tina post her divorce from Ike Turner, Ike Jr. faced challenges due to his father’s disapproval. In a 2018 interview, he revealed the physical abuse he endured from Ike Sr. for collaborating with his mother after their split.
Ike Jr. had a musical background, initially starting with drums but later shifting to piano, guitar, and bass. He maintained a distant relationship with Tina over the years, as did his siblings from the Turner family.
Ike Jr., one of four children linked to the Tina and Ike relationship, had largely stayed away from the public eye recently. Tina had a son, Raymond Craig, in 1958 with saxophonist Raymond Hill, who was later adopted by Ike Sr. Tina also adopted Ike Jr. and his brother Michael, who were from Ike Sr.’s previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor. Ronnie Turner, Tina and Ike Sr.’s only biological child, was born in 1960.
