“Emma Raducanu Finishes WTA Season at World No. 29”

Emma Raducanu has achieved one of her seasonal objectives as the WTA Tour season concludes. The British tennis star ended her season prematurely in October due to health reasons.

Raducanu’s season was eventful, with notable wins at Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming her status as Britain’s No. 1 player. However, she faced fitness challenges towards the end, notably requiring medical attention during the Ningbo Open and losing her first-round match.

After encountering these obstacles, Raducanu made the decision to end her season early but confirmed her commitment to coach Francisco Roig for the upcoming year. This choice jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.

The 22-year-old withdrew from her final two tournaments of the year ranked 29th, casting doubt on her aim of being in the top 32. Without the opportunity to accumulate more ranking points, she awaited confirmation of achieving this milestone.

With the season now concluded, Raducanu finished the year ranked world No. 29. Barring a challenging start to 2026, she is poised to be seeded in Melbourne for the upcoming events.

In early October, Raducanu outlined her aspiration to be seeded at the Australian Open and emphasized the importance of ranking for competitive advantages in tournaments. Additionally, she highlighted the significance of being a role model, inspiring younger generations with her conduct on and off the court.

Raducanu stands as the sole British player within the top 32 of the WTA rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka holding the top spot this year. Sky has announced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, providing access to over 1,400 live matches across various leagues.
