Domino’s marks its 40th year in the UK with a special edition merchandise line inspired by its original 1980s delivery uniforms. Collaborating with UK vintage brand Unified Goods, the pizza chain introduces the ‘Hot Since ’85’ collection, featuring unique garments and accessories reminiscent of the year 1985.
The collection includes a retro bomber jacket, a custom ‘Hot Since ’85’ screen-printed T-shirt, as well as items like car bumper stickers, caps, and socks, all featuring the iconic slogan ‘one call does it all’. These exclusive pieces are now available for purchase starting today. Additionally, the collection is showcased in Domino’s new retro-themed film, drawing inspiration from 80s video games and classic movies.
Melanie Howe, Domino’s Chief Nostalgia Officer, expressed the significance of the anniversary, stating, “This year marks 40 years since Domino’s first oven fired up in the UK in 1985. We wanted to celebrate by releasing a collection that embodies the bold and fun spirit of being ‘hot since ’85’.”
Drawing from the original 1980s uniform designs, the collection pays homage to the brand’s vintage style, featuring polo shirts with light blue accents around the shoulders and neck, a white stripe across the chest, and a vibrant red color scheme. Domino’s made its debut in the UK in 1985, opening its first store in Luton and expanding to over 100 branches by 1995. The company, founded in Michigan 25 years prior by Tom and James Monaghan as “DomiNicks”, later rebranded to Domino’s in 1965.
