In the ongoing legal proceedings involving Diddy, the ex-partner of the renowned hip-hop figure, Sean “P Diddy” Combs, shared a disturbing account of an incident where video footage of an alleged assault on Casandra “Cassie” Ventura circulated widely.
Currently in custody since his high-profile arrest in September 2024, Diddy is contesting serious charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for illicit purposes in a New York court. Testifying under the alias Jane, his former associate recalled the unsettling moment when the infamous video of the 2016 hotel altercation surfaced, describing it as “unsettling.” Jane detailed how she distanced herself as Diddy grappled with the aftermath within his inner circle and family.
During her emotional testimony, Jane disclosed, “I recall their attempts to craft a sincere apology or response related to the video.”
The incriminating footage, initially revealed by CNN, purportedly shows Diddy, wearing only a towel, pursuing Ventura towards a hotel elevator.
The video suggests that Diddy proceeded to physically assault Ventura by kicking and hitting her before throwing an object at her. Diddy later expressed remorse in a now-deleted video posted online.
Reflecting on his past actions, P Diddy admitted, “It’s challenging to revisit the darkest moments of your life. Sometimes it is necessary. I was in a bad place. I hit rock bottom, but I take full responsibility. My behavior in that video is unforgivable.”
Throughout Diddy’s trial, the incriminating video has been repeatedly shown. Jane criticized Combs’ apology as lacking sincerity during her court testimony.
Expressing her disappointment, she remarked, “I felt a lack of genuine remorse,” regarding his public statement. Diddy continues to face serious allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitation of prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
The case took a significant turn when Diddy and Cassie’s former makeup artist, Mylah Morales, provided testimony, recounting an incident from the 2010 Grammy weekend where she observed injuries on Cassie’s face.
Morales described an evening that commenced at a party at Prince’s residence and culminated in a hotel room where, upon Diddy’s arrival, she heard disturbances emanating from the room Cassie occupied.
Recounting the events, Mylah stated, “I was frantic and unsure of what to do,” noting Cassie’s distraught state following Diddy’s departure, with visible injuries such as a swollen eye, a busted lip, and bumps on her head.
Mylah took Cassie to her own residence for care, where a doctor friend examined her. Despite recommendations for hospitalization, Cassie declined, and they refrained from involving law enforcement.
