During a conference speech, the Shadow Justice Secretary launched a scathing attack on judges, vowing to reinstate government authority over judicial appointments. Displaying a judge’s wig as a prop, he emphasized his commitment to preventing any political activists from influencing judicial decisions.
Allegations were made by Jenrick claiming the discovery of numerous judges associated with open borders charities, who openly express pro-open borders sentiments on social media and advocate for allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the country.
However, the Government swiftly criticized Jenrick’s stance, accusing him of jeopardizing British values and risking the destabilization of foundational institutions that unite the nation.
Former Supreme Court Justice, Lord Sumption, voiced his concern over Jenrick’s proposal to remove “activist” judges, warning that granting more power to British politicians in judicial matters could align the UK with the US system, where the Supreme Court’s independence has been compromised by presidential influence.

Amid escalating controversy, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed its intention to challenge the decision to dismiss the case against O hAnnaidh, signaling further legal battles on the horizon.
