“Balcony Collapse Injures 10 Near University of Cincinnati”

Ten individuals were swiftly taken to medical facilities following the collapse of a third-story balcony at a residential complex in close proximity to the University of Cincinnati.

Emergency services promptly responded to the incident on Stetson Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, where approximately 20 individuals were reportedly on the balcony when it gave way. The collapse occurred around 10 pm on Friday evening as students were commemorating the conclusion of their exams.

According to Cincinnati Police Department Capt. Stephen Bower, speaking at a press briefing cited by Local 12, one person sustained life-threatening injuries during the incident.

Lindsay Lomax, a representative from the Cincinnati Fire Department, verified to the Daily Mail that ten students were transported to nearby medical facilities. Among the victims, one individual was severely injured, five others sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the remaining individuals suffered minor injuries.

Although the building where the incident occurred is not officially linked to the university campus, it accommodates numerous University of Cincinnati students.

After the collapse, the balcony was seen on the ground outside the building, with some parts still attached to the third floor where it had been mounted. Debris, including empty alcohol cans and a cigarette carton, fell to the ground. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation, as reported by The Enquirer.

The identities of the injured students have not been disclosed yet. Authorities from the Cincinnati Police and Fire Department, as well as the University of Cincinnati, have been contacted for further comments.
