“Deadline Approaching: £100 Supermarket Vouchers for Low-Income Households”

Time is running out for numerous households to secure £100 worth of supermarket vouchers.

The Nottingham City Council is distributing these vouchers through the Household Support Fund. The deadline for applications is midnight.

While specific eligibility criteria are not provided by the council, it is expected that the vouchers will be allocated to individuals with low incomes or those receiving benefits. Applications can be submitted on the Nottingham City Council website.

The council aims to notify applicants via email by December 12, but voucher distribution might extend until February 28, 2026.

10,000 vouchers will be distributed randomly to successful households, irrespective of the order of application. Even those who received a voucher from the council in April 2025 can apply.

Councilor Cheryl Barnard, in charge of Children, Young People, and Education at the Council, expressed satisfaction at the additional £1 million in support for Nottingham’s most vulnerable residents to aid with winter expenses.

As households have grappled with rising living costs over recent years, this extra funding aims to alleviate the financial strain on those most affected during a period when expenses typically increase.

The Household Support Fund allocates a portion of a £742 million fund to local councils across England to assist vulnerable households with essential living expenses like energy bills and food.
